Balancing the Equation

An airplane arrived at the airport in New York just like it would any other time of any other day without any abnormal situations, but this particular airplane held a special person of interest in it even if the plane pilots or the other passengers were aware of it. Altima, having hacked further funds to get access to this flight, was stepping off of the plane and into the actual airport itself.

She hit a snag however. Unlike the airport in Nevada which had little security and her flesh sheathe managed to fool them despite having set off their metal detectors. This was the central city of the Coalition Headquarters and security was much more... thorough however. Because of the recent Serion attack. This time the metal detectors went off, and when she showed she had nothing to hide, they immediately pointed weapons at her.

"I do not know what is going on, but I have not done anything wrong. Could someone please explain why I am the target of such hostility?" Altima asked simply as she looked around at the armed guards.

Their move. Perhaps this wouldn't escalate if she merely played the part of the innocent bystander. Which technically she was in this particular case.

Jun got the call. He went to the site. And he nearly facepalmed. His average sensing abilities were confirmed by the TERC. The teenager walked up the guards, damn glory hounds. "By the order of the Coalition, stand down. That ain't Serion, that's a man-made robit. Back off." And they did. Not only because Jun was somewhat of a PR hero (and occasional nightmare), but also because they knew his parents...and they didn't want to deal with his parents should they disobey him.

The teenager waved the lady robit through and escorted her out of the airport. "Sorry about that, we were just attacked by a robotic race called the Serion. That's what they were afraid you were. So again, sorry. Is there anything I can help you with or are you good?" He took in the robit. Female in appearance. Very human-like, like most androids these days. He wondered why she was here...but whatever, wasn't his business unless she was here for the Coalition. Then it was his business.

She had not yet received an answer when someone rushed in and mentioned to the armed men that she was not a Serion, then confused her for a moment as he stated she was man-made.. How could he have known about that? She had not met him before according to her databanks. She she scanned him and matched his face to the Coalition Database since that was what he had said he had authority from.

"Jun Tomoshibi of the Coalition's Research and Development team.," She stated more than asked, "I am designated as Altima." she went to offer a handshake and shook if he accepted it. Otherwise put her hand back down, "I merely needed proximity to the coalition to update my internal memory, I have been in the process of being created for a incredibly long period and have been outdated in my knowledge until fifteen more seconds have passed."

She said this because she was already using her "instilled knowledge" to...gently.. hack into satellites and download information. Since she wasn't doing a specific search she was merely updating world history and geographical map information at the moment. Which finished by the time she talked again, "I would say I am good then. Unless you would like to aid me further by sharing information about these "Serion" you mentioned. Records of this name are not found in my memory despite the fact I just updated. meaning it is too recent or too hidden from public for me to access easily"

Jun nodded. It was common knowledge of who were heads of each division, as well as officers. Or else easily attainable. Even with the risk of assassins, it would take the likes of Yuri Romanov, Gaige Ash, and another actually powerful Advent Human or robot or whatever to actually stand a chance at succeeding. Altima huh. He'd tell Alex about her and see if he can dig anything up on her/it. Though it seemed she had trouble updating herself on Serion.

"Yes and no. We've known about them for a little while, but didn't start going public with information about them until they threatened us to give back their double-crosser. And then their recent attack, hence why those guards got rough with you. New York is still getting repaired from that, but it shouldn't take long to get back to normal. There's a website that we made that has all information we want public for you to access and update yourself. Just Google Serion and you'll find it in the first five searches. Anything else I can help you with?"

She must have been isolated or something. There were lots of explanations as to why she needed updates. Though why she needed to be by the Coalition HQ was beyond him...she could have updated from well, anywhere in the world. Maybe it was because of how...outdated/old she was? But then that didn't explain her realistic appearance...but whatever, so long as she didn't breach their security it really shouldn't matter.

"I see.." She said as she connected to the internet and found the information she was looking for fairly quickly thanks to his advice, "It seems I won't need to access the Coalition again for quite some time. With the newest update modifications were made and adjustments are underway." She looked up at the ceiling for a second before looking back down at Jun and smiling, "I have not detected hostilities on a scale that would be in my jurisdiction since I arrived."

She chuckled a bit, "While that surprised me at first I'm glad it happens to be the case. I did not want to enter combat so soon.." She pushed up her glasses on her face and most likely drew attention from Jun on the sudden realization that a robot even had glasses in the first place, "However.. It does seem that I will need to do so in the near future.

Jun smiled at her brightly. "So long as it's on our side or in self-defense, you'll be fine. If people still give you a hard time for being a robit, stop by the HQ and we'll give you a badge that states that you're not a Serion. That should put a stop to it unless they're drunk or super paranoid. If that's all, you try to have a very nice day!" And if there wasn't, he'll leave her to her own devices. People watching the exchange nodded at him and took pictures. He'd no doubt be in the papers the next day, as the boy who relaxed people's fears and helped defend man-made robots/androids from persecution. It would be good publicity, despite the few naysayers out there.
