Basic Information
 
Name: Kazama Hyuogao
Age: 32
True Age: 316
Sex: Male
Personality: Kazama is calm and reserved, prefering to sit back and watch what others do rather than thrust himself into a situation. He will always search for a peaceful solution to any confrontatiion when able and holds to an odd code of honor that bids him to stand up for those who can not stand up for themselves and to do all he can to keep someone from being injured or embarassed.
 
Kazama is always willing to lend a hand to those in need, often putting himself in debt to do so. He can often be found in his personal garden and can often be relied upon for advice, personal counseling, or even just an open ear to talk to.
Likes: Kazama likes quiet gardening, often found in his personal garden behind the squad thirteen barracks tending to the various flowers there, time spent with close friends, often cooking dinner for them and sitting quietly alone at night, eyes on the skies and the stars.
Fears: Kazama fears failing above anything else. Failing to protect those he cares for, failing to complete his mission, and failing to protect the innocent. Beyond that, his own personal peace allows him to over come most other fears. Except for women. He is able to speak with women as friends but when he becomes atracted to one his personal peace does him very little good.
 

Character Appearance

 
Height: Kazama is 6'6

Physical Traits: Kazama has lightly tanned skin Kazama Shimada_KambeiHe is not heavily muscled, but his body is very tone and fit. His knuckles and elbows are rough and hardened from his martial training and his eyes are a pale blue. Beyond that, he has no outstanding marks or tattoos.
Clothing: Kazama wears the traditional black kimono that is standard for shinigami. He also wears long earings and steal plates on his knees, shins, and top of his feet with a white silk sash around his waist, a gift to him from his friend Hinata upon graduating from the shinigami academy.
Accessories: Kazama also wears a pair of long earings and steel plates on his knees, shins, and the tops of his feet as well as a silk sash he wears around his waist.
 

Fighting Style

 
General Fighting Style: Kazama is a defensive fighter who weilds his sword, and steel plated legs, as a sheild and then employs his martial skills to nonlethaly incapacitate his foe.
Strengths: Kazama is a very skilled swordsman and is also very capable in shunpo, using it to often place himself between strikes. He is also skilled in healing kido and bakudo skills. He is also a surprisingly skilled unarmed fighter, viewing the unarmed combats a form of mental discipline and an acceptable way to incapacitate foes.
Weaknesses: KazKazama places a life, any life, even a hollows. Because of this he can never bring himself to truly finish off an opponent, no matter how deadly. He will also cease fighting all together to save the life of an ally or innocent, making him a very easy target.

Shikai

 
Call Out Command: Defend, Satetsu Toku
Appearance: Upon Shikai, the sleeves of his kimono disapear and his arms, from the shoulders down, become encased in solid steel.
Abilities: Kazama gains no special ability in shikai aside from being able to use the entirety of both arms as a sheild. The metal on his arms is very durable, able to deflect the blades of low level lieutenants. It will also defend him against direct low level kido, such as hado #4.
Boosts: While the steel on his arms are able to defend against swords and such, he gains no other boosts.

Bankai

 
New Name: Tatsujin Satetsu Toku (masters Iron Shield)
Appearance: Kazama's gauntlets extend further to now encase both arms entirely, his shoulders, chest and back, neck, and abdominal muscles in gleaming, very tough, armor. On top of this there are now fifteen solid metal plates, all five inches by three inches in size and one inch thick, that all hover around him. They are an extension of his will and can be used for both painful, ranged attacks and to form solid walls,capable of blocking gran rey cero, but will break after any more damage than that (Or a gran rey from someone a few tiers above him)
Abilities: The armor is still very strong, able to turn aside the blades of anyone two tiers above him, and the plates are similarly strong, but once cut Kazama must fuse them back together in order to control them properly, a quick and easy, though necessary processs.Boosts: Kazama gains a substantial increase to strength, x3 normal, and stamina also x3 in this form, now able to dish out and take much more damage, fully capitalizing on his martial arts abilities.
 


Toukai

Name: Kanpeki Suchiiru Toku (Perfect Steel Shield)
New Appearance:  Kazama Thor_destroyer_by_ev214-d3kte3j
Abilities: Kazama is now a hollow shell of armor, making him exceptionally difficult to kill. He is also able to fire a concentrated, super heated blast of rieatsu. (Think the destroyer from Thor) as well as having thirty metal plates that are each 5 inches by three inches in size, and about an inch thick, that hover all around him and can be controlled by Kazama with just a thought. These plates are extremely difficult to destroy, being an extension of his zanpaktou. They can be cut through by someone of substantial strength, and they must also be refused back together, a quick and simple thing for Kazama, but one necessary to their proper use. They Are usually used to form walls, capable of withstanding up to a gran rey cero, but willbreak apart when hit with something stronger.
Boosts: Kazama gains a substantial increase to strength, x4 normal, and stamina also x4 in this form, now able to dish out and take much more damage, fully capitalizing on his martial arts abilities

Back Drop

 
Background: Kazama grew up in a monastary, training under the monks there since he was old enough to walk. It is from the monastary that he adopted his personality and beliefs, and also where he learned his martial arts skills. When he came of age he enrolled in the shinigami academy, believing that from there he could do the most difference in the world. In the academy he struggled, having never used a weapon before, and still holding strongly to his belief that taking a life was an almost unforgiveable offense, he held back in combat and often was found lacking in the classes. His beliefs also caused him to struggle in kido courses, where he struggled with even the most basic hado abilities. Due to his struggles, Kazama began to grow disheartened, starting to think that his goal of being a shinigami would never come to fruition. A fellow student however, Hinata, sympathized with his way of thinking however and in her Kazama found a fast friend. Taking advice from her, Kazama stepped away from the traditional swordsmanship classes, and instead began training privately with the instructors to perfect a defensive style, doing the same with his kido skills. Through this specialized training he was able to graduate from the academy and was accepted into the thirteenth squad, where he learned healing skills. His patience and calm demeanor, along with a sharp mind and impressive defensive abilities, made him the ideal healer to go out with units on misions.
Side Notes: Kazama is part of the Hyougao clan, a small, religious family of little importance that he rarely see's. He is also part of the fourth squad and is very close friends with Hinata in squad thirteen.
RP Sample: (This is an adventure early on in Kazama's career. A local group of thugs have grown unusually violent as of late and squad thirteen has deployed a small number of shinigami to handle the situation. Kazama has been assigned to the unit just in case. When the shinigami found the gang a fight broke out, despte their best efforts. The unit became divided and scattered, fighting the thugs through out the district as they found them. Kazama found himself alone with a few of the members, ambushed by the gang.)
 
Kazama breathed heavily, his sword held in an underhanded style, holding it across his body in a defensive stance, his left foot drawn back for support. Behind him lay one of the men he had been with, his belly bleeding out from a very vicious blow, dished out by the monster of a man infront of him. His opponent stood well over seven feet tall, with massive, bulging muscles and spiked red hair. He wore no shirt, showing off his dozens of scars, and he held a huge axe in his hand. He laughed at Kazama, bringing the weapon up to two hands. "I already took the other guy out, yo wanna be next pretty boy?" he asked with a sneer. Kazama spared a look behind him at the wounded man and steeled his resolve. The man would die if he backed down, an unacceptable option. "I will not stand aside monster." he said, his eyes watching his opponents shoulders.  Predictably, the huge thug let out a laughed and threw the axe over one shoulder. "Have it your way." he said as he reversed the momentum of the axe, swinging it hard at Kazamas shoulder. Kazama dropped to his right knee, the axe swinging harmlessly overhead, and then jumped back to his feet, ignoring the wide opening presented to him, and resuming his defensive stance. The thug snarled, sliding his upper hand up the handle towards the head, and with a great heave, and a bulging of his huge muscles, reversed the blow again, swinging a short heavy chop at Kazama again. Kazama, instead of dodging, snapped his sword in, using his blade to stop the axe blade. The force of it drove him sideways several inches before finally stopping it, and this time Kazama struck, rolling in along the axes handle, and shooting out an elbow at his opponents face. The thug stumbled back from the blow, one hand going to his suddenly gushing nose as Kazama snapped back to his defensive stance. "I do not wish to fight you. I am a healer and wish only to heal this man. Please, allow me to do so." he said calmly. The thug pulled his hand away from his nose, grabbing his axe again and lifting it high into the air. "I'LL KILL YOU!" he shouted in an unreasonable rage, bringng the axe down in a very heavy chop which Kazama saw coming and easily slid out of the way of. When the axe buried itself in the ground, Kazama quickly placed his left foot on the handle just below the head. He then fell backwards, catching himself with his left hand and snapping his right foot up to smash the steel plating there into the thugs face. The thug let go of his axe and stumbled back from the sheer force of the blow, his eyes crossing. He took three steps backwards before suddenly tipping over into the dirt, outcold. Kazama regained his footing and resheathed his sword, looking around. Noticing the other shinigami had the thugs on the ropes and Kazama was able to turn his attention to the injured man, kneeling beside him. "Be at ease Shunsui. I can heal you." he said, placing his hand on the mans abdomen and begining his real work. (END)

I've never really been bothered with who's in my squad, but i gotta ask, would you consider joining the 13th? Not only is he perfect for the squad because of his protective nature, he would fit perfectly with Jensen who holds similar morals and standards.

On a more app checking note, so far, its good. More detail = hier tier, if you want to add an extra paragraph to personality and some other bits and pieces in places. I would currently tier this at 2-5 right now, and you can't get higher than 2-1 on a newcomers app, so pick out your kido from here. 2-tier: 5 Bakudo, 10 Hado. 1 forbidden. is how many you of each you can have at 2 tier, also its acceptable if you want to take 10 bakudo and have only 5 hado becuase you did mention he specialises in Bakudo. just keep in mind your only allowed have up to hado/bakudo 79, 90 + is forbidden, so you can have 1 ninety if you want it as your forbidden, or you can make your own.

Ability wise, Shikai is fine. Those gauntlets can be unbreakable up to a certain point, Like if you were fighting a 1-1 and your only 2-1 they will take damage, but in your own tier range you'll be fine.

In bankai however, your armor cannot be that strong. comparing it to a hierro of certain strenght would be the best way to go and having one part much harder to break, like your gauntlets would be ok. An example of that is with Jensen's bankai, his shield is unbreakable, but his plate armor is like a strong heirro, hard to cut but not impossible.

Boosts, the usual format is, as an example, Strength x 2, or x3, x standing for times of course. The max boost is x3 in bankai, and x4 if you ever get toukai. Usually, you can have three or four boosted stats before its going to far.

Dont be afraid to add a few abilities, even if its being able to fire a chunk of gaunlet at someone to bludgeon them from a distance. Anyway thats everything i've got to say so far, let me know when you finish and i'll get around to approval.

yes you can, there are rules to healing though. you have to be touching the person/ they must be in a 10 foot area for the second spell, it takes up to seven posts to fully heal someone, depending on how much damage they've taken, like if they're dying, that'll be seven posts, and when they're fully healed, they'll wont be back at full power, they'll just be mobile, able to fight some more, and not bleeding to death. The healing works on all races too.

Seems ok for the most part. The wall-forming abilities of the plates need 3 post cooldowns in both toukai and bankai. Fix that and we're good.
